Pet Peeve #1 – Disturbing My Sleep

I’m no angel and there certainly are little things in life that annoy me. Some of these little things may or may not be your pet peeve too but they just annoy the heck out of me! So I will be starting a list of pet peeves. Let’s begin with number one.

I love to sleep. If I can, I would just lay in bed and sleep for 12 hours each day. I can also sleep almost anywhere as long as I am not disturbed (e.g. bed, floor, couch, a makeshift of a bed using 2 beds & a chair, mall, library, school, etc.). Of course, with school and other responsibilities, 12 hours a day is just not possible. Because of that, I really REALLY value the sleep and rest that I get during the weekend or holiday breaks. During those days, I do not need to wake up early to do anything. I have the whole day to myself! But no. That does not happen. This disturbance of my precious sleep happens virtually every day, courtesy of my mother.

I am 21 years old. I know when I have to wake up for school. If I happen to wake up late and miss school, oh well, that’s my problem! I also do not need to wake up hours before I leave or even be at school hours before class starts. Why waste all that time when I can squeeze in some more shut eye? As for the weekend, I do not have school nor work. I also sadly do not have (many) friends who I could hang out with. Basically during the weekend and/or holiday breaks, I’m basically stuck at home. So why not let me sleep?! Let me get all the rest that I could not get during the weekdays because of school or other obligations!

I love my minimum 8 hours of sleep per day. If I can, I would like to get 10-12 hours per day. However, that cannot realistically happen so please please let me sleep in when I can.
